What is Design Thinking?
Design Thinking is a man-made concept, focusing on four steps in order to fulfill the needs of others and create logical or helpful solutions to problems someone might face. These four steps are as follows: gathering information, generating ideas, making ideas tangible, and sharing the idea. The design thinking mindset allows people who are not typically designers to access a designer-like thought process.

New Uses for Old things
Use a paper clip as a key holder.
Use a paper clip to hold the end of a roll of tape, so that it doesn't stick to the roll.
Use a paper clip to keep money together and organized.
Cardboard Hand
For this project we were trying to make a prototype of a working cardboard hand. We used cardboard, straws, and string to make the hands. My cardboard hand was not very successful because the strings were too long and the fingers were not long enough to wrap around anything.
Cell Phone
I personally do not like cell phone pouches such as Yondr. I dislike it because freedom to be able to have and use your phone should be your right. Your phone is not only a piece of technology that assists you in your daily life, but it is a part of who you are. I don't like the idea of that piece of me being taken away. The only case in which I would be okay with using something like Yondr, would be if you are willingly and freely agreeing to give up your phone.
Redesign the PAC
The results of our survey showed that everyone did not like the layout of the PAC and thought the space did not represent each sport equally and fairly. The biggest complaints about the PAC were that there are no locker rooms, Alden field is not turf, and there is not enough parking. From this we built are empathy statement, which was " Mount Pisgah students need locker rooms because there is nowhere to change or store bags." Once we knew the issue, we created three different solutions to the problem. These solutions included building under the bleachers, converting bathroom space, and building a new facility all together. In the end, we thought that creating a new building was the easiest and most effective solution. In our design, the building would be in the grass area between savior and Alden field. It would be large enough to host two teams at once with a retractable wall separating the two sides. Each side would possess a bathroom, sink, individual lockers, and benches.

Kaleidoscope
Me and Felicia chose to create the Kaleidoscope from the Smithsonian Maker Lab Book. In order to make it you need a toilet paper roll, beads, construction paper, tape, plastic wrap, wax paper and a plastic folder. In summary, you have to shape the plastic folder into a triangle and place it within the roll. Then place beads in between the plastic wrap and wax paper at one end of the roll.
